What is Dyslexia?
Dyslexia is a neurological condition that affects a person's ability to read, write, & spell.
Unfortunately, there is no known cure for dyslexia, but there are several treatments & therapies that can help manage the symptoms & improve reading skills.
Educational interventions: Students with dyslexia may benefit from specialized educational interventions that are tailored to their specific needs.
These interventions may include one-on-one tutoring, multisensory reading instruction, & the use of assistive technology.
Speech & language therapy: Dyslexia is often accompanied by difficulties with speech & language. Speech & language therapy can help improve these skills, which can in turn improve reading abilities.
Vision therapy: Some people with dyslexia have visual processing difficulties that can be addressed through vision therapy.
Cognitive behavioral therapy: Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can help individuals with dyslexia manage the emotional challenges that often come with the condition, such as low self-esteem & anxiety.
